How to pick the right portable air conditioner
Portable air conditioners work by pulling warm air from the room, cooling it, and venting the hot exhaust out through a hose to a window. The most important number is BTU — too low and the unit will run continuously without ever cooling the room on a hot day. As a rough guide, a standard UK room needs about 340 BTU per square metre.
