01

Sofa

Dreamland IntelliHeat heated throw

Dreamland IntelliHeat heated throw

Why we like it

Six heat settings and a timer, sized for a sofa or a single bed. Dreamland is a blanket brand, not a no-name box with a heater sketched on it. We like it because the job is to warm the person, then switch itself down.

The cons

It will not stay fitted on a double mattress. It does not dry washing. If you want heat under the sheet all night, this is the wrong shape.

02

Bed

Silentnight Comfort Control underblanket

Silentnight Comfort Control underblanket

Why we like it

It stays on the mattress. Dual controls matter on a double. Silentnight is a bedding name people already trust for a bed, which is the confidence you want on something electric you sleep on.

The cons

You have to buy the right bed size. It is useless on a sofa. A cold bedroom is still cold in the morning, because this does not heat the air.

Lower price

Geepas king heated fleece throw

Geepas king heated fleece throw

Why we like it

Nine heat settings, a 1–9 hour timer, and a king-size fleece for less than the bedding brands. We like it when the brief is a large sofa throw and you do not want to pay Dreamland money.

The cons

Geepas is a value brand. This is a fleece throw, not a fitted underblanket. Read the wash label before it goes in with the weekly load.

FAQ

Electric blankets, in short

Are electric blankets safe to leave on all night?
Use a model with a thermostat and an auto-off timer, and follow the fitting instructions. Dreamland, Silentnight and Geepas list those controls. A blanket with no named brand and no timer is the one we would not put on a bed.
Is a heated throw or an underblanket better?
A throw is for a sofa or for putting over you. An underblanket fits the mattress and stays put. Buy the throw if you feel cold downstairs in the evening. Buy the underblanket if the bed itself is cold.
Do electric blankets use a lot of electricity?
Much less than a room heater. A heated throw is typically under 150W. Three hours at 25p per kWh is about 11p. A 2,000W oil radiator run flat out for the same three hours is about £1.50. The blanket only warms the person.

About Our Reviews

UK Air Con Tracker is an independent scarcity matcher — we don't sell air conditioners, we send high-intent shoppers to partner listings that still have stock. Recommendations are based on live availability from 600+ products across Amazon and eBay UK, verified daily. USB fans merchandised as mini AC are not treated as air conditioners.

We never accept payment for editorial ranking. Products earn their position through data: stock availability, buyer ratings, price competitiveness, and verified performance specs. Affiliate commission and labelled brand ads are separate — they do not buy a #1. Brands: advertise with us.
