Key findings — November 2026
Portable ACs: 45% in stock
Portable air conditioners sell out first when a heatwave is forecast. Budget 9,000 BTU units go within a day; premium units last longest. Buying in May or June, before the first warning, gives the widest choice.
Stock availability is strongly seasonal
Right now, 69% of followed products are in stock. In summer heatwaves the figure falls sharply as cooling demand spikes; in cold snaps heaters, oil radiators and heated airers do the same.
Tower fans are the most dependable fallback — 80% in stock
Tower fans hold stock better than portable ACs year-round. When every AC is gone, a fan is usually still available the same day.
Dehumidifiers: 81% in stock
Dehumidifier demand is driven by damp, which is steady across the year, so stock moves far less than for air conditioners.
