Levoit Vital Pet Pro Review: For Homes Where the Dog Owns the Sofa
Supplied by Levoit. Levoit sent us this unit free of charge and pays us a commission on sales through our links. Levoit did not see or approve this review before it went live, and it does not change our rankings. Full disclosure.
We have three cockapoos and young children, so we know the routine better than most. Hair on the sofa, hair on your jumper, hair somewhere you did not know hair could get, and a faint doggy smell you stopped noticing years ago but your visitors did not.
An ordinary air purifier struggles in a home like ours, because pet hair clogs the first filter long before the expensive one behind it is worn out. The Vital Pet Pro is Levoit's purifier built around that exact problem. Of the three Levoit units we had in, it was the one we were most keen to try, and it is the one we rate highest.

What we noticed
- 1
It is designed around the hair, not just the dust
Levoit lists an auto-clean pre-filter that scrapes collected hair off. That first layer is what clogs fastest in a pet home, so building the whole purifier around it is exactly the right call.
- 2
It notices smells, not just particles
Levoit lists PM2.5 and VOC sensors. VOCs are the odours and fumes side of things, so auto mode is designed to respond to the litter tray, the wet dog back from a walk or the Sunday roast, not only to dust.
- 3
It does not look like an appliance
We have been testing it in different rooms around the house, wherever the dogs and the children happen to be, and it has looked right in every one. Nothing about it shouts medical equipment, so it can stay out all day without you wanting to hide it.
- 4
The app stays out of the way
Same VeSync app as Levoit's other smart models. Schedules, fan speed and auto mode are easy to find and quick to change, and then you can forget about it.
- 5
It just works
No Wi-Fi dropouts, no app arguments, no odd behaviour so far. It does what the app says it is doing, which is all you want from something that runs all day.

The catches
- −We have had it for weeks, not months, so filter life and long-term reliability are not tested yet. We will come back and update this review when they are.
- −Replacement filters are an ongoing cost, and homes with pets tend to get through them faster. Check the filter price before you buy.
- −A purifier takes hair and dander out of the air. The hair already on the floor and the sofa still needs the hoover. With three cockapoos, we can confirm the hoover is not going anywhere.
- Buy it if
- Homes with cats or dogs where hair and smells build up.
- Skip it if
- You have no pets and want a bedroom purifier; the Eleva 300X is made for that.

Levoit Vital Pet Pro: common questions
- Is the Vital Pet Pro the same as the Snoopy Pro?
- Levoit refers to it as the Snoopy Pro in some of its own material. On Amazon UK it is listed as the Vital Pet Pro (ASIN B0H44QQT8F), which is the unit we used.
- Will an air purifier help with a pet allergy?
- It can reduce hair and dander in the air, but it is not a treatment. If you or someone at home has asthma or allergies, ask your GP or pharmacist for advice.
- Was this unit given to you?
- Yes. Levoit sent it free of charge and pays us a commission on sales through our links. They did not see this review before it went live.
